Consumer Service Innovation

awards

In June 2010 MDS accepted the Global Telecoms Business Consumer Service Innovation Award for our work with Aircell. “We continue to help our customers as they become more innovative with customer care and operational excellence. This award provides independent validation of our leadership in this space,” said Dewi Thomas, Managing Director of MDS. “Combined with our success in helping Aircell meet its stringent customer service standards, this independent endorsement of the project demonstrates how our focus on the customer experience resonates with the industry.”

“As Aircell continues to roll out our inflight connectivity it is essential to ensure seamless customer care. The delivery of such a unique service has required us to innovate at all levels,” said Paula Niemczyk, Director IT Design and Development of Aircell. “By working with Martin Dawes Systems we have been able to not only meet our expectations from an operational perspective, but deliver a fantastic experience to the passengers who use Gogo.”

In presenting the Awards, Alan Burkitt-Gray, editor of Global Telecoms Business, commented: “Each year we’ve seen that the industry is working harder and harder to deliver exciting and innovative services to its customers worldwide. Congratulations to Martin Dawes Systems and Aircell. The industry is seeing a wave of innovation which is making a huge difference — to the companies working in the industry and to all of us in business and as consumers. They are making such a difference to the world.”

MDS won the Business of the Decade award (1999-2009) from The Guardian and North West Regional Development Agency in recognition of our contribution to the development of Warrington as a centre for business excellence and innovation.

Commenting on the award, Gary Steen, technology director, MDS said: “We’re delighted to receive this award because the standard of Warrington businesses is so high. The last decade has seen us become an international force while we’ve retained roots in the area. Our success is driven by our innovative technology solutions and the energy and enthusiasm of our people in helping global telecom companies run their businesses.”

World Billing Award

Our work for BT Fusion received the Best Billing Implementation Award at the 2006 World Billing Awards. Organized by IIR, the awards were endorsed by the then Global Billing Association, which subsequently integrated with the TMForum.

We extended our relationship with BT Mobile in 2005 to support BT Fusion, the world’s first true fixed-mobile convergence service. MDS developed a convergent billing solution for BT Fusion’s business customers as part of its managed service solution.

Describing the role played by MDS in BT Fusion, BT Mobile’s Head of Service Management said: “The smooth launch of BT Fusion for business comes back to one of the key strengths of the MDS service; it allows us to respond so much more rapidly and effectively to new opportunities with results that we can rely on and that benefit our customers. This assured speed to market is absolutely critical in the mobile communications industry.”
